Ghostbar, The Mint, Rain and Tonic. Four vague phrases that mean tons of fun. |
The Palms is the perfect place to act like a local in Las Vegas. This barely off strip casino and hotel (see map) is a favorite of Las Vegas residents and is the place to see and be seen in Sin City. Hard Rock Hotel may have the hype and CityCenter the clout, but the Palms is a longtime go to hotel.
It is home to one of the best concert venues in town (The Pearl), the most convenient sports book (close parking) and a main thoroughfare that is as much social gathering as gaming floor. Taxis, cheap rooms and its cross street neighbor the RIO make it's off Strip location bearable.

The Flamingo: For those fascinated with the Mob History of Las Vegas and who want a sweet deal on top of it, The Flamingo is the place to stay.
